Balçova Belediye Başkanı Onur Yiğit görevine iade edildi

On 24 August 2026, the Interior Ministry announced that Balçova Belediye Başkanı Onur Yiğit had been reinstated to his duties. The notification was posted on the ministry’s official Twitter account.

Yiğit had been temporarily removed from office on 3 July 2026 under Article 127 of the Constitution and Article 47 of the 5393 Law. On 22 July 2026, Seferihisar Sulh Ceza Hakimliği issued a decision placing him under judicial control, imposing a travel ban and requiring him to sign at the nearest police station.

Following these developments, the Interior Ministry approved his return, citing Article 127 of the Constitution. The reinstatement marks the end of the temporary suspension.
